Position Overview

Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking an equipment operator/ metal sorter to support CMC Recycling Odessa. As part of the CMC team, the operator / sorter oversees the process of separating, moving, loading and unloading various scrap materials both manually and with the use of mobile machines.

This is an hourly full time position, Monday-Saturday. Overtime can be expected to accommodate business needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations

  • Prepares equipment by conducting operator inspections; performing preventive maintenance checks

  • Safely loads scrap onto trucks or rail cars as assigned

  • Sorts scrap and transfers to correct material stack both with manually and with the use of mobile equipment

  • Assist in unloading and loading customers

  • Provides housekeeping on yard by consol

Responsibilities Summary This position is responsible for oil and gas well operations, well testing, operating and maintaining field equipment and facilities, surveillance of general field operations and maintenance of various databases regarding production and operations. Job Duties: * Non-scheduled callouts outside normal business hours can be expected. * Types of well include flowing, beam pump (with electronic pump-off controller), plunger lift, water injection and water disposal. * Types of facilities include production tank batteries, flowlines, LACT (lease automatic custody transfer) facilities, water injection plants, natural gas compression, cathodic protection and metering devices (electronic gas measurement and others). * Job is to be performed employing safe work practices while utilizing acceptable environmental procedures to maximize earnings while minimizing costs on assigned oil and gas producing properties. * Daily monitoring of multiple well sites by vehicle. * Test, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment and mechanical problems. * Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and regulatory agencies. * General housekeeping and field maintenance. Qualifications Competencies: * Computer knowledge - Proficient utilizing MS Windows environment * Strong initiative and self-starter * Ability to keep neat and accurate records * Multi-task orientation with skills related to work prioritization * Excellent Interpersonal Communications skills in a team environment * General mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills * Ability to identify operational inefficiencies * Understanding of Business fundamentals * Ability to implement cost effective solutions * Technical Skills related to math and analytical thinking * Understanding of Importance of environmental and Safe Work Practices Qualifications: * 2-3 Years Oil & Gas experience in a similar role * Working knowledge of oil and gas production operations * Strong Computer Skills * High School Grad or GED.
