Job Title: Equipment Operator
Payrate - $25.00

Job Summary: The Equipment Operator specializing in General Excavation and Septic Services is responsible for operating heavy equipment to perform excavation work, septic system installations and repairs, septic lid location and excavation, hydro-excavation, line jetting, and providing commercial and residential services. This role involves the safe and efficient use of various heavy machinery and equipment to complete tasks related to land excavation and septic system maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation:
Operate heavy machinery and equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and skid steers to perform excavation and site preparation tasks.
Safely and accurately maneuver equipment to complete tasks in residential and commercial settings.
Septic System Services:
Install, repair, and maintain septic systems in accordance with local regulations and industry standards.
Locate septic tank lids, excavate them as needed, and perform inspections and maintenance.
Conduct septic system repairs, including replacing damaged components.
Hydro-Excavation and Line Jetting:
Perform hydro-excavation to safely expose underground utilities, pipelines, and other structures.
Use line jetting equipment to clean and clear sewer lines and drainage systems.
Commercial/Residential Services:
Provide excavation and site preparation services for both commercial and residential projects.
Work closely with clients, contractors, and project managers to ensure project objectives are met.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including proper equipment maintenance and safe work practices.
Adhere to environmental regulations related to septic system work and excavation.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure it operates efficiently.
Report any equipment issues or malfunctions to the maintenance department.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and materials used.
Complete service logs and documentation as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with relevant endorsements for operating heavy equipment.
Previous experience as an equipment operator, particularly in excavation and septic services.
Knowledge of excavation techniques, septic system installations, and repairs.
Ability to read blueprints and construction plans.
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in heavy equipment operation.
Hazardous materials handling certification.
Knowledge of local and state regulations pertaining to septic systems and excavation.
