We are looking for hard-working, reliable and safety minded individuals to join our team as an Equipment Mechanic. In this role you will be responsible for the timely and effective maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair of various brands and types of equipment. This will include electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics, parts inventory and ordering, report writing, and scheduling. This position is based at our Slippery Rock yard but may also travel to other SA Recycling yards for maintenance and repair work.
This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00, and on Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities for an Equipment Mechanic
Conduct basic to moderately complex diagnostic, troubleshooting, and service and repair tasks for fuel, electrical, mechanical, brake, and cooling and hydraulic systems on a wide range of equipment.
Complete routine maintenance tasks (oil and filter changes, lubrication, belts, hoses, brakes, etc.) on all heavy equipment per manufacturer and SA Recycling recommendations.
Repair or replace trailer components such as doors, floors, side walls, rails, etc.
Perform routine maintenance repair tasks for facilities.
Maintain accurate service records on all work performed.
Order and maintain spare parts inventory.
Interact with yard General Manager to schedule routine or emergency maintenance or repairs.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly working area.
Safe and proper use of assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools.
Perform all tasks fully within SA Recycling's Safety and Environmental practices and procedures.
Qualifications for an Equipment Mechanic:
Vocational/Technical degree highly desired.
Hydraulic, electrical, and diesel maintenance experience is highly desired.
Must have your own hand tools.
Ability to perform light fabrication and welding.
Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
Must be willing to complete, and successfully pass a drug screen, physical and background check.
Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus
