POSITION OVERVIEW
The Equipment Manager will oversee all areas of Alleyton Resource Company's equipment for all lines of business, including Aggregates Yellow Iron, Ready-Mix Concrete, and Material hauling. The candidate will work with the Regional Director of Equipment and Line-of-Business Managers to ensure peak utilization and maintenance and prepare annual budgets and Capex requests.
Roles & Responsibilities
Ensure a safe work environment by overseeing compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including demonstrating and communicating that safety is priority number one.
Effectively manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Work with Line of Business Managers to plan, budget, and coordinate all repairs.
Work with the Regional Director of Equipment to prepare monthly forecasts, including R&M, Revenue, and Shop Costs.
Work with Line of Business Managers to ensure peak equipment utilization.
Prepare annual budgets and Capex requests.
Review and prepare evaluations of tire costs, significant repair spending, and asset disposal recommendations.
Ensure effective utilization of all Summit and Alleyton systems to direct reports, including TMT, Company scorecards, 5S, and Safety Programs.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
Excellent computer skills and proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check
Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license
Able to work independently with attention to detail
Able to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment
Knowledge of DOT, CDL, and MSHA regulations
Able to respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner
Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadlines
Excellent organizational skills
Able to write reports, document findings and procedures, and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Able to work flexible hours, including weekends, at various locations, as required. Some travel required
Able to have set-up knowledge and to show leadership qualities
Able to complete MSHA safety training as required
Preferred Qualifications
5 -10 years of maintenance experience
5+ years of supervisory experience
Progressive Yellow Iron Management experience
