The site provides a range of integrated services for oral solid dosage forms, from formulation development and analytical testing to clinical and commercial-scale manufacture. The Kansas City facility is a Center-of-Excellence for our Biologics Analytical Services business. Our talented team has over 25 years of experience providing analytical services for stand-alone and integrated biologics projects.

Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring an Equipment Maintenance Technician. The equipment maintenance technician will provide maintenance and technical support for laboratory equipment, manufacturing equipment in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) manufacturing and stability storage systems. Support laboratory and manufacturing operations by providing quality, compliant, and reliable equipment service to prevent excessive down-time and ensure optimum equipment operation

This is a full-time hourly position: Monday

  • Thursday, on 2nd shift 12:30pm-11pm (4 day x 10-hour shift).

The Role:

  • Provide support for Validation, Calibration and Preventative Maintenance of all GMP and Non-GMP equipment and systems

  • Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on laboratory, manufacturing and stability storage equipment and systems

  • Perform equipment modifications as needed

  • Routine partnership and communication with Catalent Equipment Maintenance team, Process Engineering team, GMP Manufacturing department managers, Analytical Laboratory department managers and the QA (Quality Assurance) and Validation team

  • All other duties as assigned

The Candidate:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required, but technical/vocational training and/or trade school is preferred

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience performing equipment maintenance in a pharmaceutical or other manufacturing environment is required

  • Experience with service and repair of all Manufacturing and Electrical equipment is required and understanding of mechanical systems is required

  • Understanding of ACDC electrical circuits is preferred, basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems is preferred, proficiency in the use of power hand tools and test equipment is preferred

  • Ability to read schematic diagrams for troubleshooting is preferred

  • Experience with service and repair of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) controls is preferred

  • Physical Requirements: On an average 8-hour day this position requires the ability to walk, sit and stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms at or above shoulder height and below waist height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear, smell and lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision requirements including reading of written documents, visual inspection of materials and use of computer monitor screen frequently
