The Equipment Maintenance Technician will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment, including computerized systems and robotic devices that are designed to reduce human interaction, such as assembly devices and material handlers used in repetitive manufacturing processes. Knowledge and applied skills with programmable logic controllers (Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi preferred), electrical circuits, human machine interfaces, pneumatics & hydraulics required. The technician will log maintenance activities in a computerized system.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (As required by the Americans With Disabilities Act)

General physical requirements:

  • Physical requirements-requires lifting 25 pounds

  • Visual acuity requirements: Administrative

  • Motion and sensory requirements: Walking, talking, hearing, medium manual dexterity

  • Physical working conditions: Working environment is inside manufacturing area


  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, including automated systems. Repairs may include wiring, component replacement, PLC programming, machining, or vision/location sensor installation/alignment.

  • Properly document all maintenance activities in the proper systems in a timely manner.

  • Provide support to Manufacturing Engineers with setup, installation and validation of new automation systems.

  • Effectively collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality personnel to ensure written procedures and specifications are updated during implementation of new/revised processes and equipment.

  • Recommend and/or implement updates to Maintenance Procedures.

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with the development of proposals for equipment purchase.

  • Ensure that proper safety attitudes, procedures, and housekeeping are maintained on all work programs. Conduct work in a manner that protects the environment and safety of the community.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


  • AA in Electrical Engineering (or 4 years equivalent experience)

  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Good problem solving and observational skills

  • Effective use of hand and machine tools

  • Effective troubleshooting skills

  • Basic Computer Skills, including MicroSoft (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience with Electronics in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in Medical Manufacturing

  • Experience in Medical Devices

The Automation Equipment ServicesTechnician provides electrical / mechanical support in response to operationalchanges resulting from the malfunction, breakdown, relocation, replacement orother existing mechanical systems and / or equipment. ConductPreventative / Corrective Maintenance on all automation equipment essential tothe automated processes within the Mail Order Pharmacy. The AutomationEquipment Services Technician is also an instrumental part of the planningteam during the installation or modification of new or existing equipment. PrimaryResponsibilities: * Performs preventative maintenance,inspections, and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment, devices andcomponents. * Troubleshoots, routinely inspect equipmentand electro - pneumatic control as necessary on automated equipment. * Install new equipment includingelectrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and computer systems. * Mechanical expertise to include, but notlimited to precision alignment, tensioning fastener and belts, lubrication,lacing and tracking of belt system. * Performs data entry to generate workorders for repair, replacement parts, PM program, inventory data and machinehistory. * Optimizes equipment readiness throughplanned Preventative / Predictive / Corrective maintenance program. * Assists Supervisor, Team Lead andOperators in resolving process problem that affect the quality of the product. * Must possess a sense of urgency ontroubleshooting and repairing equipment for minimal downtime.
