Equipment Maintenance Technician

Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual must have the ability to perform the responsibilities listed below.

It is the responsibility of each individual at AWG to provide ultimate customer service to our members to support their efforts in increasing same store sales and profits. Perform equipment maintenance and repair of electric industrial fork trucks.

Required skills: 1 - 2 years of mechanical experience required. General knowledge in hand tools. Able to comprehend and write out work orders.

Knowledge of wear to parts for preventive maintenance. Work as a member of the AWG team so the total job responsibilities are met. Actions must always stress a sense of cooperation, integrity, tact and consideration with our members, associates and division management.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma preferred; minimum. Conscientiousness, detail oriented, safety minded, self motivated to achieve, high initiative, ability to work with limited supervision, team oriented, learning and applying information, ability to follow instructions in English (both written and verbal). LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and speak fluent English.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence relating to position. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic math. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Posses the ability to work with coworkers and gain mutual respect with a common goal of increasing sales and profitability. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell.

The employee must regularly lift 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Must be able to work in heights up to 50ft. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working in warehouse environment with moderate noise due to industrial mobile equipment operation and varied temperatures based on assigned work area. Temperatures will vary based on outside temperatures for the non-air-conditioned section and cool temperatures ranging from -15 to the upper 40's for the perishable sections. Working with and around maintenance tools and equipment. This position's basic purpose is to use all available resources to assist the Distribution Department in continuous growth and financial success of the Membership and Company.
