General Summary

This position is responsible for the supervision and administration of equipment maintenance, management, and repairs for an assigned facility as directed by the Equipment Superintendent; acts as the primary point of contact for project-specific, fabrication, environmental, and other needs indirectly related to equipment maintenance.

Essential Job Accountabilities
1.Supervision of the maintenance and repair of equipment, as directed by the Equipment Superintendent, for assigned facility in accordance with Granite's Corporate Equipment Standards.
2.Manage maintenance and repair activities as needed.
3.Maintain equipment files including inventory, repair, maintenance, oil sampling, and servicing to ensure the preservation of company investments.
4.Manage special projects required to support the assigned facility as needed.
5.Inspect equipment on a regular basis to identify mechanical or safety problems and ensure a safe working environment.
6.Compare costs and best value of equipment repair including parts, contracting outside vendors, using in-house labor or equipment replacements to ensure the most cost effective choices are made.
7.Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives including holding weekly safety meeting with staff to ensure a safe work environment.


  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or related field preferred.

Work Experience

  • 1 4 years experience in equipment or construction-related field.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Strong demonstrated supervisory skills and leadership ability.

  • Practical knowledge of the function, operation and maintenance of construction equipment and/or education & experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

  • Expert computer skills including all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and familiarity with Oracle Enterprise One (e1) Capital Asset Management (CAM) module.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information.

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.

This position is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and repairs to specified healthcare equipment.
