The Office of the Director, Equal Opportunity Programs Office (Code 120) seeks a skilled individual to serve as the Center Disability Program Manager/Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator.

Responsibilities

As the Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator, you will provide advice and guidance on reasonable accommodation and assistance developing alternatives for accommodation. Work to ensure Center facilities and programs are accessible to employees and applicants with disabilities.

Process requests for reasonable accommodation in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Resolve issues involved in processing requests by conducting appropriate legal research and analyzing the particular medical condition, supporting documentation, and opinions of medical consultants/Center?s Medical director to provide appropriate guidance. Maintain data to ensure accurate and timely reporting to the EEOC, NASA, and other Agency officials, as required, and to create regularly occurring and ad-hoc reports.

Develop informational materials, reports and briefings, and generate best practices to incorporate into Agency policies and programs. Assist with managing contract vehicles for delivery of accommodation and accessibility needs. Identify patterns and trends in reasonable accommodation/accessibility requests.

As the Center's Disability Program Manager (DPM), you will manage the special emphasis program and design, develop, and manage a broad program area to identify and solve systemic barriers and ensure members of the constituent group have a full and fair opportunity to compete. Identify systemic barriers to equal employment; devise acceptable resolutions to problem areas, and provide advice on EEO and affirmative employment issues and requirements. Advance affirmative employment through leadership of Center-wide intervention activities and serve as the EOPO liaison to the Advisory Committee.

Review, analyze, and develop new EEO policies, procedures, and guidelines related to reasonable accommodation, accessibility and disability employment programs.

Provide statistical analysis of workforce demographics; identify Center affirmative employment goals and objectives; and consult with management in developing strategies for accomplishing objectives.

Prepare reports and briefings, develop and conduct presentation and training seminars, and prepare manuals, handbooks and other materials.

Perform ad hoc analyses or lead studies or surveys to identify areas in which equal opportunity issues exist.

Qualifications

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

For GS-12, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11). Specialized experience is providing advice and guidance on EEO programs which included reasonable accommodation and disability employment program matters, policies, laws, regulations; assisting in the processing of reasonable accommodation requests; and analyzing data and information and recommending solutions to problems that adversely affect equal employment opportunity.

For GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-12). Specialized experience is conducting a reasonable accommodation and disability employment program to include reviewing, developing and implementing policies and procedures related to equal opportunity; providing advice and guidance on reasonable accommodation and processing requests; and, reviewing and analyzing data to identify barriers to equal employment opportunity and developing corrective action plans.
