Overview

Patterson Companies, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a motivated individual for our Project Manager role. This role will be located in Eagan, MN and will report to the Project Portfolio Manager.

The selected candidate will join an established Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and will work on a wide-range of projects across the organization. This position plays a crucial role on projects with such varied aspects such as business process improvements, regulatory, infrastructure and well as information technology.

Responsibilities

We are looking for individuals with at least one year of project management, who are eager to learn and join a growing team that is driving initiatives across the enterprise.

The Project Manager will work with partners across different business units, functions of the business, and will gain exposure across all levels of leadership.

The ideal candidate will be someone with the confidence to operate autonomously on their projects and can hit the ground running. They will also have excellent communication skills and understand the value that strong communication can bring to this role.

Travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of Project Management experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Management Information Sciences, or area of functional responsibility preferred, or a combination of equivalent education and experience, as well as specific experience dealing with customer service.

  • Experience using project management tools and methodologies, and a proven ability to develop successful collaborative working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Ability to effectively communicate with business leaders at all levels of organizations and collaborate with cross-department representatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification.

  • CSM certification.

  • Experience driving results and communicating with partners.

  • Business Analyst experience.

  • Proven success managing small to medium projects (3-6 months in duration) with some cross-department ties (IT and business).

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, conflicting priorities and schedules simultaneously, meeting all deadlines.

  • Strong customer service skills, sense of urgency responding to internal and external customers. Attention to detail producing high quality work products.

  • Ability to take direction from several individuals and be self-directed.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong positive problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrate best practices in professional relationships.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary Job Function The core function of a Senior Clinical Project Manager (CPM) will entail all of the following: 1. Handling top-priority projects, such as a moderately sized US-based trial or international study. 2. Mentoring or managing more junior Clinical Project Managers in leadership and strategic skills. 3. Acting as a business unit consultant or resource to other business units and teams. The Senior CPM is viewed as a departmental resource interested in or capable of Management and can also be assigned to other non-trial related activities, such as procedure/process teams with the intent to lead process improvements of moderate complexity. Core Job Responsibilities Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. A Senior Clinical Project Manager should demonstrate excellent quality of work in the following activities: * Demand high standards of performance from trial team; * Identify resource needs for a given trial and elevate any constraints to the management team forresolution; * Demonstrate extensive knowledge of OUS regulations and clinical trial management; * Oversight and management of CRO's; * Experience in developing regulatory reports (safety, annual progress reports etc.) * Develop or contribute to development of improved methods for resource allocation; * Lead risk management activities by working with teams to identify risks to clinical trial implementation and outcomes, present findings to management, and implement basic mitigation; * Work with outside vendors and suppliers such as angiographic/IVUS/clinical core labs in contract development and negotiation as well as in providing solutions to difficult problems associated with specific projects; * Set quality and compliance goals for the trial and monitor/manage compliance as part of clinical project management; * Collaborate with management to develop additional project management tools to improve clinical trial performance; * Excellent knowledge of CFR, GCP, local regulations and internal procedures required for clinical trials; * Proven record of compliance with, and enforcement of, regulations in clinical trials; * Prepare and update study budget using existing tools; * Monitor spending against specific parts of trial (or trials' program) budget; * Train other CPMs on the importance of managing trial spending as part of clinical project management; * Review and improve budgeting/update process; Position Accountability / Scope Be recognized by the project team as an amiable team member and leader, respected for his/her abilities and expertise; Interact with management, the immediate supervisor and Clinical Development team members locally and internationally as required; Communicate with associates across other departments (i.e., Marketing, Legal, and R&D teams) and site leaders as a decision maker authority within clinical development (i.e., Principal/Primary Investigators, Key Opinion Leaders, etc.); Act as a mentor for more junior CPMs on a variety of job responsibilities; Demonstrate the ability to influence others at a variety of levels and in different parts of the organization to achieve positive results and collaboration based on reputation, proven knowledge, and abilities; Lead through vision and values without appreciable direction; Work with managers to identify new opportunities for team members relevant to the project.
