Investigate TB cases and suspects and associate investigations which includes the identification and follow-up of all contacts e.g., skin test, x-ray, medical clinic appointments and ninety-day repeat TST's.
Responsible for all high risk screening activities along with other duties assigned by supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Contacts investigation interview, works up testing and referrals for TB cases and suspects
2.Responsible for all paper work related to contact investigation
3.Performs high risk screening activities
4.Locates, transports and medicates patients
5.Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required

TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher with major course work in Public Health, Natural Science or a related field.
TO APPLY, must have Two (2) full-time years of increasingly responsible disease counseling or prevention work experience.
TO APPLY, must have a valid driver license. Note: A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.
Must have the following knowledge and skills: communication both verbal and written; knowledge of medical terminology and forms, equipment, methods and techniques used to provide counseling services; principles and practices of public health education; pertinent federal, state, and local codes laws and regulations; communicable disease and how to protect themselves from disease process; computers and copiers and understanding of filing system.
Ability to work without constant supervision, type and enter data accurately and use a computer effectively maintaining a large changing database.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment.
