At Asante, the Epic Trainer is responsible for developing, testing, modifying and maintaining the training environment. The Epic Trainer manages updates to policy and procedure documentation related to training, designs and develops educational material, conducts training for new staff and coordinates training for software upgrades and updates. Other responsibilities include implementing training/education solutions, managing overall training projects, and delivering learning solutions in a manner that both engages the learner and produces desired outcomes.
In this role, the Epic Trainer works closely with the other departments' staff, administrators, students, and Community Connect customers to establish a training program to meet their needs. This includes training new hires, transfers, Community Connect end users and students in utilizing the Electronic Healthcare Record.

As an Epic Trainer at Asante, you will have the opportunity to:
Use a variety of tools and data courses to establish and create employees training needs such as surveys, information interviews, focus groups and a review of existing resource materials
Develop and maintain Epic implementation training material and methods specific to service line requirements
Understand and translate the functionality of Epic system configuration and workflow validations into organizational specific and easy to understand presentations
Implement training/education solutions and manages overall training projects, to include development and management of trainer credentialing program
Assist in the collection of information from users, project stakeholders and vendors on product features and future development
Assists and participates on product upgrades and timing issues to customers, related project teams, technical staff and/or management as appropriate
Bachelors degree required or, if no degree, must have at least 3 years of Epic Application training experience with current Epic Certification and TED training in lieu of degree
Masters degree in Education, Adult Learning, and/or Instructional Design, preferred
2 years of experience designing, developing or implementing training solutions for clinical or business applications or processes required
Demonstrated teaching ability required
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
Previous experience in healthcare environment providing knowledge of process, procedures and work flow, preferred
Previous experience with adult education or instructional design, preferred
Experience in increasingly responsible, enterprise level, complex business analysis and system development roles, preferred
Team Specific Preferred Experience
Clinical Applications Team: Experience in Pharmacy, Lab, patient care, clinical documentation, performance improvement, medical records, imaging or surgery
Ambulatory Team: Experience in a clinic environment providing knowledge of clinic operations and processes including patient records or billing processes
Revenue Cycle Team: Experience with ADT or inpatient registration, patient scheduling experience or coding, billing and abstracting experience
Will be required to acquire Epic Certification within four weeks of completing initial Epic training course
Will also be required to take the Epic Trainer (TED) Class within four weeks of completing the Epic Application Trainer course
Will be required to complete annual Epic recertification requirements
Any certifications relating to software, organizational development, training or project management, preferred
Certification or licensing specific to assigned clinical specialty, preferred
