The Epic Credentialed Education and Support Specialist combines the clinical and workflow knowledge of the Acute Care setting with an understanding of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other relevant clinical IT systems to provide education and support to all Acute Care and Hospital Outpatient Department (HOD) clinical staff and physicians. This position provides on-site and remote support to Acute Care / HOD staff and physicians to facilitate the on-going optimal and competent use of the EHR. This position will provide support for optimizations, upgrades, re-education, new programs, support for new clinical staff and providers, and troubleshooting and problem solving of EHR related issues. The position will collaborate closely with the IT application build teams and Principle Trainers to provide input and feedback on enhancements and troubleshooting. The IT Education and Support Specialist will conduct New Hire Epic education classes for all Acute Care/HOD clinical staff and physicians. The Specialist will also conduct education sessions for optimizations, upgrades, new programs as directed. The Specialist will also participate in curriculum development and maintenance activities which may include lesson plans, e-learnings, tip sheets, seminars, and other instructional design and development activities. The Specialist will participate and lead efforts to continually evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the EHR to enhance patient care by using tools, metrics and information available to analyze trends and suggest recommendations based on the information. (For example, Meaningful Use reports, reporting workbench tools, Chart Audits, etc.)

Will work directly with Operations Trainers to facilitate continued assistance to new acquisition offices by modeling best practices, observing tasks newly learned, completing progress reports and substituting in practice roles to keep practice operating while new staff is in training. Will lead new hires in remote locations through a modified 10-day orientation process Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Assists building the annual training program via the Learning Council and Steering Committee and prepares the teaching plans. * Serves in an office as a backfill while office staff are in training. * Models the medical office best practices on a continuous basis. * Serve as a resource to newly hired staff by guiding new team members to appropriate resource materials in Millennium University, * Nurture, support and guide new team members through progress reports. * Provide valuable formative and summative feedback to the Operations trainers, EHR trainers and practice leaders. * Works as a subject matter expert with Instructional Designer and others to assist in developing training aids, programs, webinars, and group training activities. * Travel to offices in need of support, including some overnight travel. * Adhere to company Standards of Behaviors.
