EPIC Clinical Applications Systems Analyst

Remote work is an option for candidates living in CT, MA, and NY. The Clinical Documentation Analyst provides technical support of the IT applications that support the inpatient clinical areas of Connecticut Children's. The role will have a primary focus on EPIC flowsheets, care plans, patient education, and clinical notes. Primary responsibilities include supporting day to day operational needs, quarterly system maintenance and strategic initiatives.

As a member of the Acute Care team, you will also support other non-EPIC related applications such as CBORD, CPM, GetWell Network, KidsHealth, Keriton, and Voalte.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides technical expertise in the EPIC inpatient application suite; Clin Doc, Orders, Rover, and Dialysis. Works with application stakeholders to improve the effective utilization of the application(s).

  • Functions as a liaison to the system users and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements, data flows and process flows.

  • Creates detailed work-related specifications, system design documentation, process flows, and project and change management plans.

  • Participates in, develops, implements, documents and validates comprehensive test plans complying with current standards, designed to produce successful and failed outcomes.

  • Lead small to medium complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phases.

  • Support other non-EPIC applications with routine maintenance and upgrades.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to multi task and support multiple concurrent work efforts with minimal supervision in support of team initiatives.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Outlook, etc).

  • Knowledge of project development life cycle methodologies desired

  • Willingness to learn

TRAVEL

  • May be required to travel to/from and work in the various CCMC locations, including patient care areas.

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related Health Care field, or equivalent demonstrated work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

  • Two to five years relevant experience within a healthcare environment highly desired or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and capability.

  • One to three years EPIC Systems Analyst experience highly desired.

  • EPIC Clinical Documentation Proficiency issued from EPIC within 3 months of hire date.

  • EPIC Orders Proficiency issued from EPIC within 1 year.
