This is an Analyst-level role based in Nashville, TN responsible for implementing and optimizing the Epic suite of applications and the systems on which they are delivered. Specifically, you will define, build and maintain the Cach database. The Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) will both partner with and support the Epic Client Services Administrator and others to monitor, tune and update the database architecture for optimized client needs and to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of Intersystems IRIS
Perform technical operations like monitoring and maintenance, problem investigation and resolution, backup creation and maintenance, database optimization and tuning, etc.
Learn the process and assist in the application of all server-side system updates (SUs) to all production (PRD) and non-production (non-PRD) Cach environments
Collaborate with the Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) and others to ensure application updates are installed as scheduled
Learn and aid in the implementation and scheduling of valid database backups and plan for recovery, restore or restart activities should they be necessary
Work with mentor to plan and implement database security policies according to organizational, industry and vendor standards
Stay up to date on database and platform infrastructure concepts and technologies
Engineer and recommend/implement improvements as approved
Monitor and plan for scaling database capacity as needed
Utilize scripts to automate some database management and maintenance processes
Maintain documentation on all processes and procedures within the scope of job functions
Provide on call support for production performance/availability or other critical issues
Mentor with senior level roles to gain expertise and ownership in all of the above areas
Performs other duties as assigned

Degree required e.g. Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's or 1+ years of healthcare experience
