Job Description:

The NISC III program is seeking an Environmental, Occupational Safety, and Health Professional who has CIH certification. This professional will provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area (CSA) Technical Support Center (TSC) Environmental Occupational Safety and Health Program.

In this position, you will be assisting in the development, facilitation and implementation of safety and occupational health programs with the objective to proactively reduce risks and ensure compliance with regulations and liability management.Specific duties for the position include:Development of FAA policy, guidance and directives on subjects related to FAA and occupational safety, health, and environmental compliance. Identification and assessment of hazardous workplace conditions.Perform/lead industrial hygiene and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) surveys and audits.Assist the FAA with ensuring that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state requirements.Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on occupational safety and health subject areas including asbestos management, climbing and fall protection, confined space entry, and electrical safety. Assist in the design of appropriate solutions to address identified safety and environmental risks. Perform industrial hygiene related sampling at FAA facilities.Perform/lead industrial hygiene and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) surveys and audits

Interact with regulatory agencies (e.g. OSHA, local and state health & environmental departments)

Typical education and experience:5+ years of relevant occupational safety and health/industrial hygiene experience.BS in a scientific or public health discipline required.Basic qualifications:Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.Ability to travel overnight up to 25% of work time.Ability to obtain state licensing for related areas, such as Mold & Asbestos along with others.Desired experience

Experience and expertise in environmental regulatory issues, including fuel storage tank management, is a plus.

Role Overview This position is for a seasoned professional contributor in Industrial Engineering, who will manage projects or processes to ensure overall project development coordination for the most efficient utilization of equipment and material resources. Communicates with parties within and outside Industrial Engineering regarding cost control initiatives and process and systems improvements. Specific responsibilities of this role include: * Plans, designs and implements production processes across the various service centers. * Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. * Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve production goals according to product specification. * Lean skills and the ability to learn and apply new concepts and keep current with state of the art techniques. * Application of state-of-the-art technology, methods, equipment, waste disposal processes, and utilities to preserve and extend the life of the plant and its related infrastructure. * Contractor Management. Monitor and oversee the efforts of outside contractors. * Coordination of production and engineering support. Assure that the necessary support elements are available to optimize production efforts. This involves, but is not limited to, maintenance activities; day-to-day troubleshooting of process, product, and equipment problems; and capital equipment. * Supports Process Improvement teams and Process Improvement philosophy. * Working collaboratively with peers, operations engineering, service center staff or independently, develops and implements improved processes to increase efficiency, reduce turn times and enhance health and safety of the workplace. * Draft and execute CAPEX spending plan and tracking tool for and maintain green rating for all metrics related to CAPEX. Generate and monitor to closure all CAPEX projects per the plan, including capital and expensed AR's and new equipment requests by site. Manage service centers to create POs and ensure on-time delivery of product. Maintain capex files (quotes, appropriation requests, etc.) for future projects. * Participate in LEAN Manufacturing Events as appropriate for functional area of responsibility. Contribute to Visual Management & Control, Layout, Flow & Linkage and Standard Work relating to Franchise Approach. Participate on teams to enable operational excellence through deployment of ACE. Act as directed by Manager to take measurable steps to improve MFA rating. * Coordinate all Entry into Service (EIS) items including hardware, tooling, standard work creation on all AC platforms to ensure smooth operator entry into service. This includes meetings, readiness of service centers, supporting documents, SAP Task List requirements, etc. * Assist Manager with Service Center establishment/relocation. Monitor/initiate site lease renewal process at least one year in advance of expiration; prepare final AR at least 6 months prior to expiration. * Implement capital equipment status, tracking, calibration, maintenance policy. Develop contingency plan/tracking matrix for machinery that is not "off the shelf" to align with TPM machine ratings A, B or C and document and rationalize risk by machine and site. * Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
