The Role

End of Line (EOL) Technicians; must have the ability to work with various teams including General Assembly, Quality, and Engineering across a wide variety of issues and/ or corrective actions identified in production, testing and inspection process. EOL Technicians work in a manufacturing environment rectifying issues during and post-assembly process.

Responsibilities

Knowledge of: Methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the manufacturing and rectification of vehicles.

Perform rectification on electric power train, chassis, body, and other components on the Model 3 through a comprehensive diagnosis and evaluation on Tesla electric vehicles in our Fremont factory.

Perform vehicle drive test related to Noise, Vibrations, and Harshness (NVH) on Tesla Model 3 BSR test track.

Operate computerized wheel alignment equipment and perform mechanical adjustment to the steering and suspension.

Diagnose problems quickly, find solutions through root-cause analysis, and be empowered to take immediate action.

Assist and interface with PMI, Quality, Design, and Process Engineering teams to improve work instructions, parts, jigs, tools, and other related components.

Operate and maintain a wide variety of shop tools, power tools, and automotive electrical test equipment.

Maintain records of time and materials through Tesla's Proprietary Software

Coach Production Associates and other cross-functional departments on implementation of countermeasures to improve final quality and EOL production process.

Perform other EOL related duties as assigned.

Requirements

2+ years' experience in automotive diagnosis, servicing, and repairs (may be substituted with experience in General Assembly at Tesla with evidence of exceptional ability).

Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Work in a team-based environment and achieve common goals.

Must be Flexible and capable of working in a fast pace manufacturing environment.

Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Associate Degree or Certificate in Automotive Technology (preferred).

You will help carry out in vivo experiments that collect critical safety and biocompatibility data for device development. About you: * Planning and coordinating histology studies for both small and large animals (20%) * Conducting terminal surgical procedures, such as transcardial perfusions in large animals (20%) * Performing animal tissue harvests and necropsies (40%) * Maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reagents, keeping records, and inventories (10%) * Participating in feedback and coordinating with other teams (10%) Key qualifications: * BA/BS in Biology, Animal Sciences, Neuroscience, Immunology or a related field, with 3+ years of laboratory experience. * 1+ years of conducting necropsies in an industrial and/or preclinical setting. * Carry a working knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology. * Ability to carry out and document experiments consistently, according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). * Capacity to work in a streamlined fashion with a team in a dynamic environment. Preferred qualifications: * Experience with animal necropsy, tissue handling, and grossing. * Experience in identifying gross abnormalities in tissue samples and organs. * Experience with or knowledge of a variety of routine and specialized histology stains and microscopy. * Experience working in a GLP setting. VIEW JOBS The Role: The Manufacturing Technician will join an exceptional cross-functional team of technicians that perform body collision repairs which include drilling, tapping, Paintless dent repair (PDR), and some welding at Final Line to Complete Vehicle Inspection Standards (CVIS) specifications and deviations. This position will be located at our growing facility in Fremont, California. Under direct supervision, the Manufacturing Technician will perform routine duties within the manufacturing operations area. Responsibilities * Understands and ensures adherence to required safety procedures and processes. * Evaluate the process design and tooling improvements - comfortable in suggesting and implementing new ideas that improve quality, reduce cost, support production work environment. * Willingness to operate in a dynamic environment and team structure. * Can perform body repairs on Final Line to CVIS spec/deviations * Understands the basic methods of auto body repair. * Able to understand CVIS deviations. * Physical work including but not limited to pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, etc. * Ability to follow a required specific sequence of steps in a process repetitively for an extended period of time * Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed Requirements * Minimum High school diploma or equivalent experience * Maintain a safe and 5s work area at all times * Understands the concept "root cause analysis" for defect improvements. Responsibilities: * Assist industrial engineers in developing and deploying efficient systems to integrate production associates, machines, material requirements, and information to achieve optimal manufacturing state. * Collaborate with production management and cross-functional support teams to identify manufacturing constraints and execute solutions accordingly. * Assist engineers and production management to plan work assignments based on production associate performance, machine capability, and production schedules. Knowledge of rules regarding alternative work schedules. * Ability to create multi-process workstation layouts, standardized work, staffing and process maps to execute a successful rebalance of workstations as needed. * Ability to prepare diagrams to illustrate workflow, product routing, floor layouts, material handling, and equipment utilization. * Ability to collect statistical production cycle time studies, analyze data, and optimize process. * Working knowledge of 5S principles, Work Measurement, JIT, Kanban and Problem Solving Methods. Requirements: * Understands the definition of Takt time, target cycle time, and factors of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in depth. * Moderate data analysis skills - tableau knowledge is a plus. * Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines. * Exemplary verbal and written communication skills. * Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Visio is a plus).
