Environmental Technician - Gramercy, LA

Turner Industries Group is looking for Environmental Technicians in the Gramercy, LA area. This position is responsible for performing daily equipment inspections and maintenance.

• Industrial (Plant) experience required (2 years preferred)

• TWIC Card (or ability to obtain a TWIC card)

• Works well in a small team

• Physical requirements: lift/carry 45lb max, climb 8' ladder and stairs, crouch and reach in crouch position

• Computer skills preferred but not required

• Skid Steer, Forklift, and/or manlift experience a plus

• Mandatory Background Check

• Must be able to pass drug screen

• Local candidates only - no per diem or relocation for this position

• Dependable Vehicle to commute to Gramercy, LA area

Functional Requirements:

Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance, Monitor and maintain fluid levels on machinery (pumps, engines, pneumatics, etc.) in accordance with specific work assignments, Material handling in accordance with site specific health and safety program and standard operating procedures, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Qualification Standards:

• High school or equivalent

• Industrial experience required (2 years preferred)

• Basic computer skills preferred

• Basic knowledge of hand tools

• 40-Hour HAZWOPER (29CFR 1910.120) training preferred but not required

• TWIC Card (or ability to obtain a TWIC card)

• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation

• Pre-Employment qualification test if applicable

• Job site "Personal Protective Equipment" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.)

• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Physical Involvement:

May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; typing / data entry; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment

Work Environment Factors:

• Location: industrial maintenance and construction sites; pipe fabrication facility

• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas

• Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominantly outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
