The Opportunity:

Our Environmental Field Laborers (Environmental Technicians) are responsible for the performance of tasks associated with tank cleaning, high pressure water blasting, emergency response clean-up, hazardous waste clean-up and the handling of hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all time

  • Performs non-emergency and emergency response activities that deal with biological, chemical and etiological materials

  • Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the shift

  • Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights

  • Operates light and heavy equipment including: skid steers, forklifts, pressure washer

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High School Diploma or equivalency

  • 6 months construction or general labor experience

  • Valid Driver's License and Clean Motor Vehicle Record

  • Safety oriented mindset with the determination to follow all procedures and policies

  • Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods of time and to work on an on-call basis.

TRC is seeking a highly motivated and diverse Environmental Engineering Internfor our Summer 2022 intern program out of our Augusta, ME or Scarborough, ME office. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2022 (flexible). This position has thepotential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists. Our Technical Interns: * Experience a broad variety of environmental engineering assignments including soil, soil gas, and groundwater sampling and remediation; feasibility study development and analysis; remedy design; remedy implementation; operation, maintenance, and monitoring. * Perform construction oversight and documentation. * Prepare work plans and proposals. * Perform calculations and engineering evaluations. * Interpret and present data. * Review and prepare reports, conceptual designs, and detailed construction plans and specifications. * Perform other environmental engineering tasks such as the development of Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and Response Activity Plans. * This is a full-time, paid position * Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2022 (flexible) Minimum Requirements * Must be at least 18 years old * Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field * Minimum GPA of 3.0 * Willing to live in or commute to Augusta, ME or Scarborough, ME * Has excellent verbal and written communication skills * Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills * Self-motivated, detail orientated person * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) * Honest, fun, hard-working and ready to learn and grow Preferred Qualifications * Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCad, MathCad, ESRI, HydroCad, WaterCad, ARCView GIS, etc.) is preferred but not required TRC offers advancement potential and a competitive compensation package dependent upon level of education, technical capabilities, and market conditions.
