We have a current opportunity for an Environmental Specialist with the ability to grow with the organization. This position provides hazardous and nonhazardous waste management services to our customers.

Responsibilities include manifesting, packaging of materials, spill response, labeling of packages/drums, loading/unloading trucks, coordinating transportation, and sampling/profiling material.

Experience with hazardous waste and/or a current CDL is preferred but not required, we will train!

We are looking for candidates with a stable work history, strong work ethic, who are eager to learn.


  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science discipline preferred, but not required (training provided)


  • 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification (training provided)

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with Hazardous endorsement (training provided)

What You'll Do: Conduct Inspections and Audits. Conduct frequent inspections and audits at each plant location to assess regulatory and environmental management compliance, control significant environmental risks, and ensure the adequacy of environmental management systems. Identify Environmental Issues. Stay ahead of all major environmental issues and regulations impacting operations and develop strategies to minimize their impacts. Prepare regulatory summaries and guidance documents for issuance to field personnel. Develop Permit Application Renewals. Assist field personnel with the development of permit application renewals, modifications, and other compliance programs (SPCC plans, stormwater management issues, NSPS compliance, etc.) Evaluate Environmental Impact. Evaluate potential business acquisitions and divestitures for environmental issues and compliance. Coordinate and manage the use of consultants to improve return and minimize costs. Interact with Various Groups. Provide assistance to plant personnel on environmental issues during demolition, UST removal, ACM abatement, plant construction, and others as requested. Interact with governmental agencies regarding new legislation, regulations, and compliance issues. Participate in trade association activities. Skills You'll Need: Education. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a similar technical area is preferred. An Environmental or Mechanical Engineering degree and/or an advanced degree is desirable. Experience. Previous experience in the environmental area is preferred. Must have a high level of hands-on experience in reviewing regulatory requirements and assessing their applicability and impact to the field. Regulatory Knowledge. Must have expertise in environmental regulatory compliance and numeric groundwater and surface water modeling. Must have strong knowledge of the federal and state environmental regulatory process and experience with environmental regulatory areas (RCRA, CWA, CAA, TSCA, etc.) Interpersonal Skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and interact well with all levels of personnel. Technology Skills. Must have the ability to use computerized equipment and technology. Experience using AutoCAD & ArcGIS is preferred but not a requirement.
