Job Description:

General Description:

This position works to ensure compliance with several requirements related to environmental regulations and laws. These include underground storage tanks, nutrient management, pollution prevention, our dam permits, and MS4 stormwater compliance.

Duties and Tasks:

• Performing various Environmental Inspections and audits

• Environmental Recordkeeping

• Responding to Environmental inquires

• Project Managment for Environmental and Landscaping projects

• Performing public outreach events relating to Enviornmental topics

• Conducting facility safety audits

• Assisting in vehicle fleet operations

Minimum Qualifications:

KSAs:

• Ability to perform data entry, compose written documents and scan documents.

• Ability to analyze and interpret data; maps and construction drawings.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and providing excellent customer service;

• Ability to assist with coordinating programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles.

• Ability to assist with providing campus community workers with guidance, support, awareness, and resources to conduct their workplace duties in a safe environment

• Ability to be an effective team contributor;

• Excellent communications skills both oral and written;

• Ability to follow directions, handle multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.

• High initiative, positive attitude and attention to detail are essential.

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions and to maintain a high level of productivity

• Maturity, self-motivation, and willingness to work as part of a team

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in environmental services management.

• Experience in construction project management.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, use of PC's and peripherals such as scanners, printers, portable storage devices.

• Must obtain Virginia Department of Environmental Quality Certification for Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector within 6 months of hire date.

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience doing environmental related work data analysis, or research..

• Experience using software such as AutoCAD, GIS, tree management software.

• Experience working in higher education.
