JOB SUMMARYCoordinates a variety of safety functions, including safety committees, safety inspections and post-accident investigations. Establishes safety policies and procedures.
Oversees emergency response and workers compensation. Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations and Chemtel updates. Provides consultation and training in all safety areas.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.
Plans, develops, and implements environmental strategies and policies throughout the organization.2. Develops environmental programs, including SWPPP, SPCC, and solid waste management programs, site compliance inspections and environmental emergency action plans.3. Manages environmental activities across multiple sites throughout Florida and the Caribbean, manages regulated wastes and storage sites, site environmental programs, and site environmental evaluations.4.
Works with other team members to promote environmental compliance through maintenance and operations, including training, auditing, and maintaining permit compliance.5. Develops training and educational tools regarding environmental goals, compliance, and awareness.6. Provides environmental expertise to internal teams and coordinates with stakeholders regarding relevant issues and requirements.7.
Stays current on changes in environmental policy and regulations to assess and mitigate risks.8. Assists HSE Manager and supports HSE team in other projects as assigned.9. Performs all other duties as requested.MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management or in a related fieldEXPERIENCE: Seven years' experience in the environmental field including experience with EPA and associated regulations, emergency response, and hazardous/regulated waste management.LICENSE: Valid driver's license and valid passport.
Professional certification in Environmental, Hazardous Materials, or Emergency Response.TRAVEL: 30% travel to domestic and other Tropical Caribbean locations.PHYSICAL: Office Environment
