Responsibilities Demonstrates basic understanding of applicable environmental laws, environmental best management practices, field construction practices, employee environmental training, and working with local, state and federal land management agencies.
Works with construction management and government agencies to ensure comprehensive environmental compliance throughout all phases of transmission line construction.
Complete pre-construction surveying within the project right-of-way and surrounding areas. Monitors the Project area for species of concern.
Implements appropriate flagging and signage to comply with environmental concerns and mitigation.
Conducts noxious weed monitoring and management. Inspects, evaluates, and amends project best management practices (BMP's) as needed in accordance with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan and contractual requirements.
Develops Project plans to ensure environmental and agency compliance.
Preparing and overseeing all biological management plans, obtain project specific permits, and manage all field biological activities including preconstruction, construction, and post construction monitoring and surveys. Conduct Project Environmental training for all project employees, subcontractors and visitors to project site and develops Site Specification Environmental Plans for project work sites.
Participate in daily and weekly pre-construction look-ahead meetings.
Prepare and maintain daily and weekly reports as specified in the project documents Participate in weekly progress meetings.
Perform site inspections to identify areas of potential risk related to permit requirements.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local permit conditions.
Strictly adhere to Owner's environmental policies and procedures; Verify that work is executed according to drawings and specifications; Coordinates with Owner's staff and governing agencies on a regular basis to track Project activities and ensure consistent communications Project wide. Maintains good communications with the Owner's Construction Inspection team, the EC Source Lead Environmental Inspector, and work crews.
Qualifications Education and/ or Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree 1-5 Years' experience Skills & Abilities: Hazwoper 40HR CISEC or CESSWI Stormwater Certification OSHA 30HR CPESC Certification ACOE Wetland Certification Strong organizational and document management skills Ability to multitask and maintain effectiveness with multiple priorities Professional demeanor; remain calm and emotionally controlled under pressure Detailed oriented and high attention to accuracy Solid mathematical skills Comfortable with working in a non-traditional office environment Demonstrated written and verbal skills Demonstrated Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency Demonstrated Microsoft Outlook proficiency *Pay Rate: $65,000 - $100,000
