  • Experience in environmental discipline/service areas such as NEPA documentation, protection of endangered species and marine resources, transactional due diligence/site remediation, storm water and spill prevention planning and permitting

  • 3 to 8 years' relatable experience in environmental permits, planning, environmental evaluation, etc.

This position requires pre-employment drug screening and physical.

Job Description

Mott MacDonald is seeking an environmental specialist to support a major transport and tunnel design-build proposal and project in southeast Virginia. The role will primarily consist of providing support for environmental permitting, hazardous materials management and permit compliance aspects of the overall projects. The position will include tasks to ensure that construction of a major project goes ahead with the appropriate level of due diligence; taking into consideration regulations of appropriate agencies. This is a unique opportunity to join a major project team and contribute to Mott MacDonald's success.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing designs to suggest modifications, as appropriate, and to work collaboratively based on conditions and construction activities.

  • Performance of onsite environmental inspections, collection of environmental samples (soil, sediment, groundwater, etc.), oversight of field activities.

  • Preparation of technical reports and documentation.

  • Opportunity to support the strategic, environmental element of regional transportation and infrastructure projects.

  • General environmental compliance

  • Working with regulatory agencies and authorities (federal, state and local)

Consideration will be given to an appropriate combination of education/training and experience. * * Experience * 4 years of progressively responsible experience in hospital/physician patient accounts or equivalent experience. Experience and proficiency using an automated billing system, GE IDX and ETM experience preferred. * * License/Certification/Registration * No special certification, registration or license required. * * Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Effective negotiating skills, to include ability to resolve complex billing and collection situations with individual patients or third party payers.
