Environmental Specialist 2
What We Do:
At the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, our primary goal is to protect the environment and public health.
What We Need You To Do:
Ohio EPA wants you to be our newest environmental specialist in the Division of Materials and Waste Management (DMWM) at our Central Office in downtown Columbus.

As an environmental specialist 2, you'll ensure waste management facilities are constructed and operated in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and approved permits.
You'll accomplish this by conducting inspections at solid waste, infectious waste, construction and demolition sites throughout our central district. Away from the field, you'll review technical documents, prepare reports pertaining to existing and proposed DMWM facilities, and develop strategies for upgrading noncomplying facilities and initiating enforcement actions as necessary.
You'll review and evaluate waste programs at approved health departments to determine their compliance with state standards and provide technical assistance to health departments, the regulated community, and the public.
Let's recap the key tasks:
Perform inspections of waste management facilities.
