The EVS Technician ensures a clean and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff, reducing risk of infection in the healthcare setting and promoting a clean, attractive environment. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CHI St. Alexius Health - Dickinson.
Demonstrates excellent customer service performance and displays a positive attitude and behaviors consistent with the CHI Standards of Conduct and Core Values.
Maintains housekeeping supply par levels and restocks weekly.
Cleans patient rooms during stay and following discharge according to all federal, local, state, and industry standards, policies, and procedures.
Uses cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly, according to all relevant safety standards.
Maintains cleanliness of public areas of the hospital including restrooms, offices, hallways, outpatient services, and clinics.
Shares expertise by mentoring, precepting, or teaching inservices and classes as requested.
Participates in hospital/department meetings, volunteers for committees and projects, and attends continuing education related to area of competence.
Greets patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly manner and assists with requests that fall within scope.
Must be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the position
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must understand the risks associated with the use of cleaning chemicals and work safely.
Must work well in a team environment.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
