Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Environmental Services Department: personnel, equipment, procedures, and other functions involving the Environmental Services Department. Assigns employees to specific tasks and keeps time records. Trains personnel, demonstrates new techniques and equipment. Monitors the performance of assigned staff to assure Departmental and Association policies and procedures are being followed at all times. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential job function.

Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 plus acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, and home health. Specialized care includes Memorial Regional Cancer Center and Memorial Heart Institute.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years directly related experience in a health care facility.

  • One (1) year experience as an Environmental Services Lead.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.

  • Must possess excellent written/verbal interpersonal communication and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to manage own time and schedule own tasks. Must have initiative to work efficiently without constant supervision and direction.

  • One (1) year knowledge of /experience with PC programs.

  • Must be able to travel in and out of Stanislaus County. If MHA and/or own vehicle used on Association business, must possess a valid California Driver's License and upon request, provide proof of liability insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National executive Housekeeping Association (NEHA) certification.

  • AA Degree in Management

  • Prior experience as an Environmental Services Supervisor.

  • One (1) year knowledge / experience with Microsoft products: Excel, Word or Windows, Publisher, and PowerPoint.

What You Will Do EHS: * Leads creation of multi-site EHS targets and objectives supporting strategic initiatives * Participate in corporate program development and goal setting as well as lead implementation * Identifies action-based EHS goals for site leadership team members, functional managers and front-line leaders to support achievement of the site's EHS targets and objectives. * Manages completion of site and workstation-level risk assessments to identify and prioritize EHS aspects and hazards. * Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulatory agencies and standards * Responsible for regulatory agency investigations, employee complaints and safety/health assessment audits * Evaluates existing or emerging environmental health and safety risks, regulatory requirements, standards, and best practices * Conducts trends analysis and reporting of results against key EHS metrics Leadership: * Build capability of site resources to support implementation of EHS programs * Manages development and maintenance of training processes to ensure that required EHS training is defined, addresses required content and is tracked to completion. * Leads site efforts to ensure that key EHS operational controls are in place and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis. * Provides technical support to team leaders and team members What You Need * Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of environmental health & safety management, process safety management, manufacturing risk management planning, behavioral based safety, environmental management, or process engineering experience reflecting increasing levels responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 12 years of environmental health & safety management, process safety management, manufacturing risk management planning, behavioral based safety, environmental management, or process engineering experience reflecting increasing levels responsibility. * Supervisory/management experience. * Experience managing environmental, health, or safety function(s) for a manufacturing organization. What Will Set You Apart * Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of CPG environmental health & safety management experience reflecting increasing levels responsibility. * Knowledge of Lean Management principles.
