SCS Engineers is looking for an Engineer or Scientist for our established team serving the greater St. Louis region from our office in Overland (St. Louis), Missouri. We are a nationwide firm of growth-oriented Seller-Doers seeking a full-time Environmental Services (ES) Leader ready to take on a senior position as Satellite Office Manager to help grow our business in the industrial/ commercial and real estate markets. The position will also serve as a key leader in our Central Business Unit ES Practice and will work alongside the Central Business Unit ES Practice Leader to drive operational growth, project deliverable standardization and efficiencies, and overall quality and safe delivery (proactive safety!) across our ten Central U.S. offices. How you can make an impact
You will wear several hats, including project management responsibility, business development responsibility focused on growing the ES Practice, managing and mentoring ES staff, providing technical expertise, and serving as a Seller-Doer.
As our Environmental Leader and Satellite Office Manager, you will contribute to our growth and lead the office by:
Developing new and existing clients
Integrating with other Environmental Services and Solid Waste Services staff across the company
Managing and being responsible for Profit/Loss of your projects and the business unit
Seeking profitable ways to increase Satellite Office staff
Providing guidance and mentorship to Satellite Office staff and select Business Unit ES staff
As a Seller you will contribute to our growth by:
Playing a leading role in new client acquisition
Maintaining or growing relationships with existing clients
Collaborating with SCS national technical experts as we develop strategies for expanding ways in which we contribute to our clients success
Reviewing RFPs, assisting with go/no go decisions, drafting and reviewing proposals
Enhancing the value of the services that we perform for existing clients
As a Doer you will work with a team of professionals, including SCS national experts in various fields, to assist our clients in resolving a wide variety of environmental challenges such as:
Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation - soil, groundwater, stormwater, wastewater, subsurface gas, vapor intrusion
Brownfield Assessment and Redevelopment
Environmental Permitting, Reporting and Compliance
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters of Science in an environmental related science or engineering field required
Minimum of 15 years of related work experience required
Minimum of 10 years working at an environmental consulting firm required
Business Development experience in the Central U.S. market preferred
Professional registration (e.g., P.E. or P.G.) or certification (e.g., CHMM, CIH, REM, or similar) preferred
Valid drivers license and driving record in good standing required
