Environmental Services, Journey 2 located in Seward!

This position is in the Labor, Trades and Crafts Unit (LTC) at a Range 60.

What You Will Be Doing:

As an Environmental Services Journey 2, you will maintain a clean, sanitary and safe physical environment in AVTEC facilities to include the interior and exterior of assigned areas, such as the dormitories, apartments, recreation areas, food service areas, training areas, classrooms, and offices. You will clean, deodorize, and sanitize large living and work areas, furniture, upholstery, carpets, and hard surface flooring; maintain an inventory of cleaning materials, supplies, chemicals, and equipment; perform routine servicing of tools and equipment; remove snow, ice and debris from sidewalks and steps; secure buildings and grounds; and drive the school's van to transport students to and from classes as needed.

Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in the position a candidate will need the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of techniques and methods to clean, deodorize and sanitize large living and work areas, furniture, upholstery, carpets and hard surface flooring.

  • Skilled in the safe and proficient use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies.

  • Ability to perform routine servicing of tools and equipment safely.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written policies and procedures, safety data sheets, and work assignments.

  • Ability to follow and comply with oral instructions and organize assignments in logical sequence and to complete assignments within time constraints.

  • Ability to meet quality/quantity control, safety and sanitation standards, and to wear personal protective equipment and clothing.
