POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervises the planning of the department's employees in maintaining the upkeep of cleanliness, order and appearance of the medical center and its properties in both public and patient care areas. Will ensure that established housekeeping care is provided to achieve the objectives of the medical center. Maintains the department's organization structure, assigns responsibility and delegates authority, analyzes and evaluates housekeeping personnel, provides opportunity for growth and development of personnel, as well as provide means of continuing education for all personnel, complies with established standards as assigned by JCAHO, CDC, OSHA, and other federal agencies as may be required. Performs cleaning functions in various areas of the facility, as needed. Performs other tasks as directed. Trains and mentors staff; responsible for shift changes and performs associated task necessary for the smooth transition of the shift, assigns staff to assigned areas; in the absence of the EVS manager.

DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:

General guidance and direction by managers. The supervisor will be expected to perform the job duties on their own initiative with policies, procedures, and practices as designated by the hospital and their manager.

Job Requirements:

Experience: 1-3 years' housekeeping experience required. 1 year supervisory/management experience highly preferred, preferably in housekeeping/environmental services.

Education: HS Diploma or GED preferred

Position Summary: Serves as an OR Lead responsible for cleaning and maintaining Operating Rooms and their Sterile Areas. * Assists with between case cleaning when needed * Performs terminal cleaning of operating rooms and sterile areas. * Empties out trash and bio * Re-stocks cleaning chemicals and paper products * Works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution. * Performs day to day assignments in addition to OR duties. * Makes sure all OR rooms are terminally cleaned. May have instances where late cases occur and OT maybe required to complete the terminal cleaning of the room. Position Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Required B. Education: C. Experience: Applies basic skills appropriate for the position. May adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the requirements of the positions. Applies knowledge of department policies and procedures, and utilizes a general understanding of other departments' functions.
