Oversees and acts as a lead in project work and cycle cleaning schedules. Responsibilities encompass assisting Manager with training, orienting and directing the daily activities of the Environmental Services personnel.

Maintain assigned area at an acceptable level of cleanliness and order by overseeing cleaning schedules and the performance of up-to and sometimes exceeding 6 employees. Reports problems, issues, and recommends solutions to Manager.

1.In conjunction with the Manager, participate in interviewing and hiring all

workers in assigned areas.

2.Trains and orients assigned employees.

3.Assigns duties and supervises the performance of up-to and at times exceeding 6 employees.

4.Evaluates performance of employees; makes recommendations on follow-up training, disciplinary action and terminations.

5.Assures staff is supplied with proper chemicals and equipment such as plastic bags, mop heads, laundry

bags, etc. to perform daily duties.

6.Identifies and initiates corrective action for equipment, furniture and unsafe working conditions in assigned

area.

7.Assures that hazardous waste is disposed of according to established infection control procedures.

8.Performs any and all duties of Environmental Services Aide when necessary.

Ability to read, write and speak English. Six months to one year experience in housekeeping or supervisory experience.

Ability to operate simple mechanical devices such as buffers, scrubber, and vacuums. High School diploma desirable.

Basic Skills/Abilities Required

Good communication skills both written and oral.

Standing and or walking for majority of shift.

Frequently interfaces with professional staff, patients and the general public.
