Sodexo is seeking a strong, dynamic Environmental Services/Custodial Manager for healthcare in Detroit, Michigan. Harper Hutzel Hospital is part of the Tenet DMC Health System, comprised of 2 million cleanable square feet of space, supported by 204 union employees.
This is an acute care teaching hospital, with several buildings in a downtown setting. Full range of services including heart, cancer, obstetrics, general medical surgical, and an emergency department. This is a day shift opportunity and will need to be flexible to work some weekends and other shifts as the business dictates.
Rotating weekends and holidays are part of the schedule. DMC Harper University Hospital is one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the nation with fully-implemented Electronic Medical Records, 100 percent medication scanning, and advanced robotic surgery technology. Located in Detroit, Harper has served patients from across the country and around the world for over 150 years.
The successful candidate will have experience in healthcare to include a background in floor care, teletracking computer skills, and housekeeping management. Excellent oral and written communication skills are key to managing and communicating with the clients & employees.
Prior supervisory experience in healthcare setting or equivalent is ideal. We are in search of a self motivated leader with the desire to deliver outstanding results for the organization. The ability to motivate and inspire staff to exceed expectations is a desired characteristic for this manager.
Must be able to drive HCAHPS results to a high level and understand ENGAGE patient satisfaction process. Overall, will need to motivate hourly staff and maintain cleaning quality to a very high level. Driving client engagement and patient/employee satisfaction is essential for the success of this role.

Provides management oversight for Environmental Services non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place as required to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for non-exempt work force planning through effective scheduling, development of daily work flow assignments, training and development, and monitoring for compliance to the plan.
Key Duties-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory maintenance.
