The University of South Alabama's Housing department of is seeking to hire an Environmental Services Aide I. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions

• Cleans University housing areas both upstairs and downstairs by performing general cleaning duties including: sweeping, mopping, dusting, waxing, vacuuming, and washing windows.

• Disposes of waste paper and replaces supplies as needed.

• Dusts and cleans offices where care must be taken that certain papers and materials are not destroyed.

• Cleans appliances and dehumidifiers.

• Reports structural damage that requires repairs to supervisor.

• Moves furniture and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Delivers supplies and runs errands.

• Scrubs and cleans restroom areas, common areas, commodes and urinals.

• Applies deodorizers and germicides, refills soap dispensers, towels and paper towel holders.

• Polishes mirrors, plumbing fixtures and cleans light covers.

• Uses ladder to clean fixtures, covers, windows, glass dividers, etc.

• Follows appropriate handling procedures for bio-hazardous materials.

• Regular and prompt attendance.

• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.

• Related duties as required.
