ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB's Wethersfield, CT office has a need for an Environmental Scientist to join our growing Site Investigation & Remediation practice!
Responsibilities
Develop and manage effective site investigation and remediation field programs
Provide hands-on support during field exploration and testing
Interpret and communicate investigation findings
Leverage technology to support data management and visualization
Manage and perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
Investigates any quality problems that lead to project changes and modifies project plans as needed
Ensures each project complies with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
Establishes and monitors budgets to assess profitability
Write technical reports, correspondence, notes and memoranda
Skills and Attributes
Ability to work in field and office settings
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Motivated and able to problem-solve
Familiarity working in urban environments, managing soil and groundwater on construction sites
Familiarity with state regulatory programs (Property Transfer, Voluntary Remediation, and Brownfields)
Strong knowledge of site assessment/characterization, data analysis, and remediation techniques
