Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist III to join our Environment Planning and Permitting Practice in Anchorage, AK. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of planners and scientists that are responsible for reporting, permitting, environmental planning, and implementing and documenting compliance. The successful candidate will have enough experience to be able to independently conduct field work and prepare the associated reports for a wide variety of national/international private and public sector clients.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Successfully execute environmental planning and permitting projects while meeting cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives
  • Create, review, and submit environmental analyses and/or reports.+ Provide recommendations and develop innovative solutions.+ Collaborate with project teams to develop work programs designed to provide innovative and progressive project solutions.+ Regular travel to client or project sites as necessary
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients to enhance client retention and growth.+ Familiarity with project management, including preparation of scope and cost estimates, financial and budgetary management, resource allocation and scheduling, and engagement of subcontractors.+ Effective verbal and written communication, liaison and management of clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, vendors, and analytical laboratories
  • Lead for environmental tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, engineering.+ 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.+ Willing to travel out-of-town for durations ranging from approximately one day to two weeks, as needed. Travel will vary greatly and depend on the workload/projects at any given time.+ Valid U.S Driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science, Environmental studies or similar.+ 6+ years of relevant experience.+ Highly effective verbal and written communication skills; extremely proficient in technical writing; highly effective organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities

Additional Information+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $110,000.00.
