Job Description:

Our client is looking for someone to join their team as an Environmental Scientist. In this role you will engage in both field and consulting work including environmental studies, fieldwork, and documentation preparation for permit applications and approvals with the NJDEP and PADEP. You will also provide strategic project oversight which involves budget management, client interaction, leading and mentoring project managers and environmental scientists. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing technical reports, environmental permit applications, and supporting documents while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic project oversight, including budgetary management and client interaction.

• Lead and mentor a team of project managers and environmental scientists.

• Understand and implement Quality Assurance/ Quality Control procedures including critical reviews of work by junior staff members.

• Perform environmental investigations including field work

• Prepare technical reports with recommendations

• Prepare environmental permit applications and supporting documents

• Communicate with clients, stakeholders, permitting agencies and the public

• Present results of studies

• Cooperate and coordinate with other design team members

• Consult with clients on permitting and development options.

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and guidelines.

• Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Engineering

• 3 to 5 years' experience

• NJDEP experience

• PADEP experience

• Experience performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM standards

• Experience performing environmental sampling

• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER

• Leadership

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Mount Holly, New Jersey and some days remote.
