The Position
Environmental Scientists perform program research, planning and development, permitting, compliance monitoring, inspections/enforcement, and technical support services in relation to air, water, waste, federal facilities, corrective action, mining, biology and other environmental programs.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This posting is for one position in the Minor Source Permitting Branch in the Bureau of Air Pollution Control. The duties of permitting include assisting facilities with permitting questions, reviewing permit applications for surface area disturbance permits, temporary construction permits, and general stationary permits, communicating with facilities to get additional information, determining potential emissions, and drafting air quality permits.
