Jacobs wants to grow our team in Florida, and we are seeking a seller-doer Project Manager with expertise in a solid waste engineering and/or planning. Some of the key aspects of the role will include:
Managing projects for key solid waste management clients in Florida and the southeastern US regional market, including making project decisions regarding engineering and technical approaches, cost and schedule, and performance.
Leading and delivering solid waste facility designs, permit documents, and cost estimates.
Delivering solid waste master plans, facility master plans, waste diversion plans, corporate waste strategies, organic waste diversion and processing strategies, and financial analysis.
In this dynamic role, you will:
Lead and contribute to the delivery of a variety of solid waste projects consistent with project delivery and design processes
Interface with the client on work progress and technical aspects of the project
Support business development activities related to waste management planning projects in Florida and the southeast, leading to the award of contracts. This would include client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, proposal preparation, and oral presentations consistent with established business development processes.

BS degree in planning or engineering discipline
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the solid waste management industry
Project management experience including proposal and business development experience
Familiarity with solid waste planning and facilities, including: landfills, transfer stations, composting, waste collection, anaerobic digestion, waste processing and related technologies
Experience with technical writing
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Experience in planning, managing, and delivering solid waste projects
MS degree in planning or engineering discipline
15-20 years of experience in the solid waste management industry
Have a proven track record in client relations and in positioning for, winning, and delivering successful solid waste projects in Florida and beyond
This position will be located in Florida and must be able to travel to project sites as needed.
