Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. About the Environmental Program Manager
As the Environmental Program Manager, you will lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of all phases of work for the Company's portfolio of remediation sites. The position coordinates required internal and external resources and perform the program management and administrative oversight necessary to effectively meet the Company's cleanup objectives. The Environmental Program Manager for Remediation is responsible for effective program leadership and periodic evaluation of Program methodologies. You will be responsible for proposing performance improvements to the Program Review Committee and Company Management to enhance Program efficiencies. This is a critical role within the Environmental Section of the Local, District, and Corporate Emergency Response teams.
What You Get to Do:
Provide environmental support to Corporate, District and Local operating area teams.
Manage and provide technical expertise in areas of air, water, and waste with focus on regulatory and compliance programs, environmental site assessments, remediation projects, and emergency response and preparedness.
Take direction from Program Review Committee to develop and oversee overall strategy for assigned remediation sites.
Determine appropriate contracting strategies for required external resources to implement Program.
Act as Program leader and provide management/oversight of work done by program management contractors, environmental consultants, and remediation contractors.
Oversee consultants to ensure timely progress in remediation milestones, serve as primary internal reviewer for agency reports and submissions, and interface with internal and external Legal Counsel to minimize potential liability.
Interface and negotiate with regulatory agencies on site strategies and scopes of work and advocate for Company's interests, in accordance with direction from the Program Review Committee and Legal Counsel.
Fulfill a designated ICS role during emergency response and mobilize to Incident Command Post or Area of Operations, to participate in emergency response efforts for 7-to-10-day period.
What You Bring to the Table:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences or other Natural Science from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
Ideally, 10+ years of experience in the environmental site assessment and remediation field (e.g., design, construction, operations, maintenance).
Ideally, 2+ years of oil and gas industry with some pipeline experience.
Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record to drive company and/or personal vehicles to perform required tasks, including the ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
Certifications such as PE, PG, CHMM, and/or REM, etc.
Strong working knowledge of proper environmental media sampling procedures and techniques, site investigation approaches and environmental remediation technologies.
Working understanding of programmatic and financial management best practices.
Working knowledge of environmental site assessment and remediation laws and regulations.
ICS Introductory Training (e.g., ICS 100, 200, 700, etc.).

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:
Normal color recognition and identification. Physical ability to respond to emergency situations. Work is performed in a typical office environment, outdoors within facilities and on the pipeline ROW. May be required to work in outdoor/field environment to assess protocols and examine procedures or respond to incidents.
