The NISC III program within the Leidos Civil Group is seeking an Environmental Occupational Health and Safety (EOSH) Professional who has CIH certification to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC III) team.

In this role, you will be supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Programs with the goal of mitigating organizational risks and assisting the FAA achieve an improved state of compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Federal, State, and Local law.

Specific Duties For The Position Include:

  • Development of FAA policy, guidance and directives on subjects related to FAA and occupational safety, health, and environmental compliance.

  • Identification and assessment of hazardous workplace conditions and develop the necessary controls for occupational health hazards and safety concerns. Initiate and provide written documentation

  • Perform/lead industrial hygiene and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) surveys and audits.

  • Assist the FAA with ensuring that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state requirements.

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on occupational safety and health subject areas including asbestos management, climbing and fall protection, confined space entry, and electrical safety.

  • Assist in the design of appropriate solutions to address identified safety and environmental risks.

  • Perform industrial hygiene related sampling at FAA facilities.

  • Perform/lead industrial hygiene and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) surveys and audits

  • Interact with regulatory agencies (e.g. OSHA, local and state health & environmental departments)

  • Provide planning, scheduling, networking and coordination assistance among all regional and headquarters' organizations; involving NAS implementation and integration efforts and related monitoring/tracking programs.

  • Research regulatory, scientific and engineering written materials.

  • Attend meetings providing professional opinions on matters affecting occupational safety and health, and travel to and visit field activities when directed by the customer.

Qualifications

Typical education and experience:

  • Typically requires BS degree and 8 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 10 years of prior relevant experience.

  • May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.

Basic Qualifications

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

  • Ability to travel overnight up to 25% of work time.

  • Ability to obtain state licensing for related areas, such as Mold & Asbestos along with others.

  • Must have thorough knowledge of Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) laws, regulations and practices.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior FAA experience is highly preferable.
