As the Environmental Monitoring Technician, you will be responsible for conducting routine environmental monitoring activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular environmental monitoring activities, including air quality sampling, water quality testing, gas sampling, and surface swabbing, in accordance with established procedures and protocols.

  • Collect samples from various locations within the manufacturing plant following proper sampling techniques and safety guidelines.

  • Assist production operations by conducting environmental monitoring of batching processes.

  • Maintain grade A, B, C, and D production areas through regular environmental monitoring, including routine sampling of water and gas at specified intervals.

  • Utilize air samplers to conduct both viable and non-viable air monitoring.

  • Operate production equipment as required for sampling water and gas utilities.

  • Perform basic laboratory duties and fulfill other assigned responsibilities as needed.

  • Use LIMS software to create labels, collect & submit QC samples to the labs.

  • Document and record all monitoring data accurately and comprehensively, maintaining detailed records for regulatory compliance and internal reporting purposes.

  • Participate in environmental training programs and initiatives to stay abreast of relevant regulations, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing environmental monitoring activities, prioritizing personal and team safety at all times.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. AAS degree in related field and or Biotechnology desired.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing or healthcare industry, FDA regulatory preferred.

  • Previous experience in environmental monitoring within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and recording.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to move freely within the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.

  • Capable of lifting and carrying equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Handling and manipulating sampling equipment, tools, and materials with precision and accuracy.

  • Ability to read and interpret gauges, meters, and labels, as well as distinguish colors for testing purposes.

  • Adequate hearing to discern auditory signals, alarms, and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirators, as necessary for environmental monitoring activities.

  • Endurance to perform physical tasks and activities continuously throughout the shift, often in varied environmental conditions.

  • Capability to ascend and descend ladders or stairs to access monitoring sites or equipment installations.

  • Comfort working in confined spaces or at heights as required for certain monitoring tasks.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $36,000 to $74,360, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees, a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees to accrue up to 120 hours in the first four (4) years of employment, and 160 hours in the fifth (5th) year of employment as well as 12 to 13 paid holidays per year.
