The Environmental & Housekeeper establishes a positive, upbeat environment building on client strengths. These individuals create an emotionally safe, non-punitive setting that is engaging and nurturing. All progress and significant events are documented and discussed with the Treatment Team, to ensure everyone is on the same page about doing what is in the best interests of our clients.

Anderson Health Services is launching mental and behavioral health programs to provide 24/7 emotional support to clients with a history of complex trauma. The hours for this position are 7am-3pm. Everyone is dedicated to offering high quality, culturally sensitive care to adolescents in need of emotional help and support.

The Environmental & Housekeeper at Anderson Health Services is expected to:

• Cleans/maintains assigned work area by gathering materials, refilling carts, removing trash, disinfecting bathrooms (including shower, sink, and toilet) and dusting.

• Cleans/disinfects emergency spills and debris immediately.

• Ensures equipment is in good working order.

• Removes and properly disposes of trash and soiled linen immediately.

• Reports safety hazards and defects immediately.

• Provides excellent customer service to all clients, visitors, and employees.

• Greet clients and families in a courteous manner when entering the room.

• Performs special cleaning procedures such as terminal cleanings when needed (deep cleaning using bleach, wipe walls, clean underneath bed, high dust, change

• curtains).

• Responds to verbal speech, alarm signals, radio, and telephone communications within appropriate time frame as specified by leader.

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or GED or experience in building cleaning or laundry operations.

Physical Requirements

This position will require a wide variety of physical tasks such as standing, walking, running, stooping, bending climbing stairs, and lifting individuals, which requires strength, coordination, endurance, and agility. In addition, there may be occasional contact with hostile clients, and incumbents may be subjected to physical and verbal abuse while executing physical or protective interventions. The employee must maintain sufficient physical ability to ensure safety, in the event a client becomes violent, and attempts to hurt themselves or others. The employee must be agile enough to control and rapidly extricate themselves and clients from buildings in case of emergency.

Additional Requirements

Must be 21 years and older and have a valid NC driver's license with a good driving record. Must be able to demonstrate effective self-regulation strategies. Must be coachable and willing to learn. All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening and background check.
