Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Environmental Health & Safety Manager. This position is based at our Roxboro, NC manufacturing facility. Relocation assistance is available to candidates who currently reside in the United States.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

This individual is accountable for directing EHS activities at the site; establishing EHS objectives and targets; internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of national, area, and local regulatory requirements, and; act as the site EHS liaison with the Group and Corporate EHS teams. The EHS manager is also responsible for maintaining site ISO/OHSA certifications; assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; assuring closures of MESH (Management of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; completion of required training for EHS personnel; managing interfaces with the public and governmental authorities with adverse findings and enforcement actions; directing actions during crises; site security, creating a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of site EHS&S targets and objectives (MESH Plan) in support of corporate, regional and business group EHS&S strategic initiatives designed to drive EHS&S culture, compliance, and results.

  • Identify action-based EHS&S goals for site leadership team members, functional managers and front-line leaders to support achievement of the site's EHS&S targets and objectives.

  • Manage completion of site and workstation-level risk assessments to identify and prioritize EHS&S aspects and hazards.

  • Utilize the company's EHS&S database (MESH Suite) to manage data related to EHS&S incidents, consumption of natural resources such as water, and EHS&S action plans.

  • Lead the deployment of EHS&S element champions and teams and facilitates their engagement in ownership of the activities required to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.

  • Manage the completion of a site-wide annual evaluation of compliance with Federal, State, local and company EHS&S requirements

  • Identify and support achievement and maintenance of third-party recognition - such as OSHA Voluntary Protection Program, ISO 14001, NC Environmental Stewardship and OHSAS 18001 - that establish Eaton's EHS&S program as world-class.

  • Manage development and maintenance of training processes to ensure that required EHS&S training is defined, addresses required content and is tracked to completion.

  • Lead site efforts to ensure that key EHS operational controls are in place and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.

  • Lead sustainability programs for the site.

  • Lead an EHS team consisting of one EHS Technician.

  • Support other sites as needed.

  • Perform all other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

  • Three (3+) or more years of experience working in a Enviornmental Health & Safety role within a manufacturing environment

  • Two (2+) or more years of experience directly managing people

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Science from an accredited institution

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
