Pepperidge Farm is seeking a highly motivated and eager to learn Environmental Health and Safety Intern to join our team! This position will help with supporting our commitment to maintaining a safe and sustainable work environment. Under the guidance of experienced EHS professionals, the intern will assist in various aspects of regulatory compliance, incident investigation, training, risk assessment, emergency response planning, data trends, and documentation.

Essential Job Functions:

1.Assist in EHS Compliance: Support the EHS team in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental health and safety in the food manufacturing industry.

2.Incident Reporting and Investigation: Aid in the documentation and investigation of environmental & safety incidents, near misses, and hazards. Work collaboratively with the EHS team to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

3.Safety Audits and Inspections: Participate in regular safety audits and inspections. Assist in identifying areas for improvement and work towards implementing corrective measures.

4.Safety Training Programs: Contribute to the development and delivery of safety training programs for employees. Assist in tracking and maintaining records of employee training compliance.

5.Environmental Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and assessing environmental factors within the manufacturing facility.

Including but not limited to tracking air emissions, water & electricity usage, and wastewater parameters. Collaborate with the team to implement strategies for resource reduction efforts.

6.Emergency Response Planning: Support the development and testing of emergency response plans. Participate in trainings, drills, and tabletop exercises to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies.

7.Data Analysis: Collect and analyze EHS data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare reports and presentations for management review.

Qualifications:

1.Currently enrolled in a degree program in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. 2nd Year students preferred.

2.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

3.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

5.Basic knowledge of environmental regulations and safety protocols.

6.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

7.Eagerness to learn and contribute to a positive and safe working environment

Rate of Pay: $22.00

Shift: AM (Flexible)

This hands-on experience will provide valuable insights into the practical application of EHS principles within an industrial setting while offering opportunities for professional growth and development.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
