Environmental, Health & Safety Intern

Please note, this internship is not eligible for benefits and will be located at our manufacturing facility in Sandy Springs, SC.
Support in daily tasks, while gaining functional experience in a medical device manufacturing environment. Assist in all training, permit applications, industrial hygiene monitoring and sampling, validations, audits, and inspections.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Evaluating adequacy of safety controls (PPE, administrative and Engineering) through OSHA and internal standards.
Complex equipment machine safety validations via checklists.
Assist with developing and reviewing basic safety training classes. (content review, documentation, scheduling)
Performing basic Job Hazard Analysis and Chemical Hazard Analysis.

Education and Experience:
Progress towards a college degree majoring in Environmental, Health & Safety or Engineering/Engineering Technology
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Familiarity with OSHA standards
Identification, evaluation and control of workplace & environmental hazards in a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
Standard office equipment (scanner, fax, copier)
