Airgas NorPac is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to cover the state of Oregon!
Our EHS Specialist will oversee the development and installation of a comprehensive employee environmental, safety and health (EHS) program with the goal of reducing work related accidents and injuries. The Specialist will provide administration support for the Safety Management System (SMS) and be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all safety policies and procedures for the region by performing the following.
Educate and develop a culture that encourages Good Catch Submittals, incident reporting and ensures appropriate response to reports.
Emphasize and reinforce the Company's Zero Incident culture to all employees.
Assist in periodic plant and store safety inspections and FDA audits; prepare reports of any findings with recommendations for corrective action(s).
Ensures facilities are prepared and in compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, DHS, County and Internal audits as required.
Compile data and assist in Tier II, Form R, and other Environmental reporting for Federal and State agencies.
Assist management with accident and injury claims to properly investigate and research claims and assist with investigations.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Occupational Safety, or similar discipline (preferred);
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation (preferred);
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in safety related capacity;
Must be knowledgeable and understanding of DOT, OSHA, EPA, DHS, FDA rules and regulations and training requirements;
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines;
Adequate computer skills;
Must be willing to travel up to 75%;
Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record;
Must have reliable transportation and be able to work flexible hours;
Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
