Environmental Health And Safety Manager

Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. We are seeking a EHS Manager to join our dynamic team. The role will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs that comply with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety excellence within our Company.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to EHS programs and initiatives and serve as a subject matter expert on complex EHS issues

• Participate in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate control measures, including investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence and improve EHS performance

• Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and vendors to enhance awareness and promote a culture of safety

• Analyze EHS performance metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to drive continuous improvement

• Collaborate with the Sustainability Committee and help with the implementation of various projects to achieve the sustainability goal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field with 8+ years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry

• In-depth knowledge of relevant EHS regulations, standards, and best practices, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, FDA, and cGMP requirements

• Proven track record of managing comprehensive EHS programs in a pharmaceutical R&D environment

• Proven experience conducting risk assessments, root cause analyses, and trend analyses

• Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred

Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the service line and location where this position may be filled.

Salary Pay Range

$144,000-$176,000 USD
