Environmental Health and Safety Manager Oakland, CA, USA Full Time Compensation: $120,000 to $125,000 Annually Health, Dental, Vision, 401k matching Reference: EHS-2/2022 SAFETY MANAGER Experienced Safety Manager Needed at Large Oakland Transportation/Intermodal Company Not a Remote Position | Full Time | Sponsorship Unavailable Introduction: We are a large transportation company operating on the West Coast, specializing in drayage and transloading services. We are seeking a safety professional to help us build a culture of safety within the organization. The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of safety for our transload/warehouse facility as well as in our corporate offices. This is a pivotal role in the Company, and we are seeking a strong manager who is a self-starter. About the work: - Lead the organization in creating a safe and healthy work environment that aligns with Company safety policies, programs, and processes and reflects federal, state, and local regulations. Develop & implement emergency procedures.

  • Perform job hazard analysis and develop safe work procedures as they pertain to employees and contractors job tasks, equipment, tools, and special projects.

  • Create and enforce policies in cooperation with operational managers. Audit procedures, processes, documentation, and employees for compliance with internal and external requirements.

  • Investigate and report accidents/incidents/near misses & in conjunction with the operations department develop solutions to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Coordinate, develop, and oversee our OSHA program, ensuring that our policies are compliant. This role has daily interaction with warehouse managers to ensure OSHA regulations are adhered to.

  • Responsible for our overall COVID program. Daily coordination with our Warehouse Director, HR Managers, and other relevant staff to ensure that policies are enforced. About you:

  • Preferably five years or more in a safety capacity in a warehouse or industrial setting.

  • Ability to research new regulations and create coherent plans based upon them.

  • Preferably experience in a variety of capacities touching on training, education, compliance, safety, and the like.

  • Ability to influence a team of diverse individuals while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Great written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Operate in a warehouse environment.
