As a Environmental Health and Safety Lead Professional, we'll count on you to:

  • Responsible for the site waste management program including .Inspects, moves, coordinates, tracks and appropriately monitors, documents and reports hazardous, non-hazardous, universal waste and bio-hazardous waste shipments.

  • EHS training presentation skills.

  • Ensures chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheets (SDS's), along with the site emergency response plans and reports, are current and accurate and prepares necessary regulatory.

  • Assists in emergency response and preparedness

  • Coordinates sampling, analysis, and permit compliance reports and permit renewals for submission to regulatory agencies including air, storm water and wastewater programs, hazardous substances.

  • Advises guides and assists with the implementation and management of energy conservation and recycling activities.

  • Assist in all aspects of incident management.

  • Assist in management of Safety Programs such as Lockout/TagOut, Confines Space, machine guarding, etc.

  • Administers Compliance Auditing Internal Programs and maintains routine hazardous identification inspections.

  • Responsible for completing all training requirements and maintaining 100% compliance with all assignments.


Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.


  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2-3 years relevant progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in an environmental or safety and regulatory compliance experience, preferably in food, drug or cosmetic industry.

  • Requires experience with Federal, state, and local regulations relative to environment, health, and safety (OSHA, EPA, FL DEP, etc.).

  • Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) a plus

  • Experience with environment, health, and safety principles and programs, including development and implementation of such programs.

  • Storm water Pollution Prevention Plans, Sampling & Reporting procedures.

The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to: * Coordinate fleet availability, utilization, and returns * Manage customer relationships * Close rental deals from inbound inquiries and outbound telemarketing calls * Provide customers with expert advice on equipment selection * Support outside sales force * Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities * Performs other duties as assigned * Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time Qualifications * Familiarization with equipment (pumps, compact & heavy equipment, small engine, handheld tools, etc) is a plus * Excellent time management skills * Ability to multi-task * Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written * Knowledge of material handling equipment, their application and safety * Good computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook * Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. * Mathematical Skills - Basic: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. * Reasoning Ability - Intermediate; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
