As an Environmental Health and Safety Intern you will design and develop risk and other procedural assessments.

What you'll do:

  • Utilize training management tool to review and deliver training on a variety of topics.

  • Perform audits and safety observations inside the foundry

  • Data cataloging/consolidation,

  • Research and responds to routine training requests

  • Participate in safety engagement teams

What you'll need:

  • Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Hygiene, or Public Health or related field.

  • Experience in a manufacturing company during studies

  • Strong computer and presentation skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Professional competencies required: Learning on the Fly, Dealing with Ambiguity, Drive for Results, Organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

This is a Monday through Friday daylight position. This individual supervises assigned team members, manages risk control inventories and work distribution in the risk control/safety department. The Supervisor of Risk Control, Safety and Health Services assists in hiring, training, and evaluating team members in the assigned unit. This role provides coaching and mentoring to team members to enhance performance and development and promote team building; and identifies additional training needs and monitors performance against established metrics. Responsibilities: * Ability to actively listen to others. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) inclusive of public speaking and presentations. * Apply or locate appropriate resource(s) for customer. * Builds credibility and establish relationships with internal and external clients. * Continually assesses workload in light of business priorities; directs own efforts and that of the internal staff accordingly. * Creates customer satisfaction by demonstrating the value of risk control services and establishing long-term relationships with clients. * Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment * Familiar with the risk control service tools available to clients. * Fully understands risk control performance standards and principles. * Has mastered risk control computer systems applications relevant for their area. * High level of skill and competency in Microsoft Office Suite products especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Demonstrated project management skills. * Knows and understands the business plans for each marketing business unit. * Makes complex technical information and recommendations understandable and clear to all audiences with varied levels of technical knowledge. Influences others to take action on recommendations, obtains consistent by-in. * Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. * Possesses a strong understanding of workers' compensation coverage. * Provide input to underwriting to help support underwriting profit. * Understand customer wants and needs, and recommends products and services that match their needs appropriately. Qualifications * BA/BS Occupational Safety and Health, Physical Science, or Risk Management earned from an accredited college or university required. Post-graduate education preferred. * 5+ years of field loss control or increasing levels of responsibility in related operations. * Prior experience with Safety and Risk within a Health Insurance environment is highly preferred. * Supervisor/management/leadership experience preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: * Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Required.
